The teams were chosen by a group of former players, club presidents, life members, cricket media and historians (30 selectors for the men's team, 20 for the women's). Each chose their top XI and a 12th man from a list of players who had made at least 75 appearances for St Albans during their careers. The selections were heavily weighted towards their club cricket performances, while keeping in mind the balance of the team. The votes were then tallied to produce these two great teams of the century. We know that both teams will generate much discussion and debate.
